Job overview
This role is working within JPP Consulting Ltd who provide a design and detailing service for a wide range of clients and schemes both locally and nationally. Our diverse portfolio includes multi-storey residential blocks, new housing schemes, schools and commercial developments ranging from small individual projects up to multi-million-pound schemes.
Responsibilities and duties
Working within the structures team, the role will be varied and include but is not limited to:
- Analysis, design and detailing of various structures / structural elements including:
- Production of clear and well-presented design, drawings, reports, specifications and other engineering documentation.
- Site visits to inspect progress of schemes, answer contractor queries and obtain existing information to inform subsequent design.
- Attendance of Design Team Meetings to establish client briefs, develop structural schemes and present and discuss designs carried out.
- Comply with company design, quality, environmental and Health & Safety compliance and procedural standards.
We are looking for someone with a desire to work on a variety of project types and learn new skills to meet the needs of our clients and the business. You must have a BEng degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent) and ideally 5+ years experience.
Qualifications and training
As part of the JPP Group you will be encouraged to attend CPD training offered to all employees both by internal and external trainers.
Software
You will have the opportunity to work on various industry software including AutoCAD, Revit, CADS, Analysis Suite, Robot, SCIA, Tekla and Tedds.
