Burners Lane, Milton Keynes

Structural Engineering

Redevelopment of an existing 1970s commercial property at Kiln Farm, Milton Keynes, for Milton Keynes Parks Trust.

Working alongside Watson & Cox (Construction) Ltd, the scheme included a new infill extension comprising steel frames with Warren trusses in both directions, designed to provide a flexible, open-plan space to match the existing units.

Works also included assessment of the existing structures for additional loads from re-cladding and re-roofing, foundation design, external yard works, and a surface water management strategy incorporating a shallow-depth attenuation tank.

The total construction value was approximately £4.6 million.

JPP services provided:
•Structural design of new frame
•Assessment of existing structure
•Foundation investigation and design
•Drainage and civil design
