Great Oxendon and Kelmarsh Tunnels
The Great Oxendon and Kelmarsh tunnels are situated along the Brampton Valley Way, a former rail route between Market Harborough and Northampton.
This unique scheme involves the remediation of public footpaths within these two historic railway tunnels.
West Northamptonshire Council have instructed The JPP Group to provide topographical surveys and ground investigations, as well as a comprehensive set of Infrastructure Design services.
Key design considerations include:
- how surface water is managed long term
- creating a safe finished surface for active travel
- minimal ongoing maintenance
- how the works be constructed safely
- limitations on the clients budget
